Instead, you will be leaning back.Bend the leg that did not get the hip replacement.Slowly move yourself to the edge of the bed, using your hands and the heel of your good leg.As you move, keep your legs apart and your knee facing upward.Slowly drop the leg with the new hip over the side of the bed.Shift until you can also drop the other leg to the floor.Support yourself with your arms, and keep leaning back.Slip on your shoes with your shoe horn.Extend the leg with the new hip.Pull the walker around in front of you. Grasp the walker with one hand.Push yourself off the bed with your other hand.Stand up straight. Don't bend forward in the walker.
